Viticulture & Terroir
The grapes come from organically farmed vineyards located at around 350 metres of altitude in the Amarante sub-region, on granitic soils. Harvesting was manual, and each variety was vinified separately — a choice that preserves the pure, distinctive character of each grape, with special emphasis on Alvarelhão’s fresh and vibrant profile.
Winemaking
Fermentation was spontaneous with indigenous yeasts, followed by several weeks of skin-contact maceration in clay amphorae (talhas).
Arinto was fermented separately to preserve its firm acidity and citrus-driven profile, while Alvarelhão contributes red fruit, texture and rustic expression.
After pressing and ageing, the final blend was assembled and bottled with a light addition of SO₂ (25 mg/L).
No fining or filtration was performed.
Tasting Notes
Light ruby colour with a delicate nose of raspberry, redcurrant and wildflowers.
On the palate, it is dry, light and fresh, with soft tannins and lively acidity extending the finish.
A natural red wine with the soul of a white — ideal chilled and perfect for relaxed, informal meals.
