Viticulture & Terroir

This field blend comes from old vines between 80 and 100 years old, planted on granitic soils at 350 metres of altitude in Vinho Verde.
Farming is organic, and harvest is manual, carried out between late September and mid-October.

Winemaking

The red varieties (Vinhão and Borraçal) were destemmed on arrival at the winery and fermented in clay amphorae (talhas) with full skin contact until the end of alcoholic fermentation, with no temperature control. After pressing, the must returned to amphora for ageing.

The white varieties were vinified separately:
Azal with 3 weeks of skin-contact maceration
Arinto with 2 months of skin contact
Both fermented in amphora at 15ºC.

Throughout the process, 500 g of ground chestnut flowers were added as a natural fermentation activator.

The final blend was prepared in January and bottled in February with a small addition of SO₂ (25 mg/L).
The wine is unfiltered and may show natural sediment.

Tasting Notes

A vibrant, light-toned red with a mineral, gastronomic profile.
On the nose, it shows fresh, wild aromas of cherry, spice and floral hints.
The palate is dry, textured and lively, marked by bright acidity and the authentic character of old-vine granite-grown fruit.
A free-spirited, uncomplicated wine made for the table.
