Viticulture & Terroir
The Loureiro grapes used in this Pet-Nat come from 40-year-old vines planted on granitic soils at 350 metres of altitude in the Lixa area, Vinho Verde. Farming follows organic principles, with manual harvesting in the third week of September.
Winemaking
Lou 38 is crafted according to the ancestral method, beginning with cold skin-contact maceration at 7ºC for four weeks.
Fermentation starts spontaneously in stainless steel tanks (75%) and clay amphorae (25%). During vinification, ground chestnut flowers are added to support natural fermentation and stability.
The wine is pressed with approximately 20 g/L of residual sugar and bottled to complete fermentation. No filtration or fining is performed.
Tasting Notes
Lou 38 shows a delicate aromatic profile with fresh citrus notes, white flowers and marked saline minerality.
The palate is light and dry, with fine bubbles and lively acidity. The controlled skin-contact maceration adds subtle structure and great freshness.
A vibrant, gastronomic Pet-Nat with a clean, dry finish.
