Producer
One of the most sublime family domaines of all time lives quietly in Piedmont — and its immense value still flies under the radar, even among great connoisseurs. Founded in 1928 in the heart of Castiglione Falletto — the cradle of restrained power, where intensity is expressed without weight and elegance lingers eternally — the Cavallotto family crafts timeless classics that represent Piedmont’s blessed lands in their most traditional and faithful form.
In the words of famed critic Antonio Galloni:
"Cavallotto may very well be the greatest Barolo producer most people have never heard of."

Description
From the Vigna Cuculo parcel (1.87 ha), planted in 1962 on the prestigious Bricco Boschis at 320 meters altitude, this Barbera d’Alba Superiore benefits from perfect west/southwest exposure for optimal ripening.
The winemaking follows the traditional Cavallotto style: spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts, a 15-day maceration in large Slavonian oak botti using the “cappello semisommerso” method, followed by 18 months of ageing in the same large casks — respecting the classic rhythms and practices of Piedmont.
The result is a concentrated, deeply expressive Barbera, with notes of black cherry, violet, sweet spices and earthy undertones. The grape’s signature bright acidity is perfectly balanced by the richness of the fruit and the structure from oak ageing. A serious and noble expression of Barbera, with great ageing potential.
