Clair Obscur Bourgogne Chardonnay 2020
Bourgogne Blanc AOC | Bourgogne (Corpeau & Mâcon), France
Volume: 750 ml

Description
Pierre Clair is one of the true biodynamic masters of Burgundy, with extensive experience as “chef de culture” at our Domaine Marquis d’Angerville in Volnay. Together with his wife, they steward family vineyards under their outstanding natural project Clair Obscur.
“Natural” in the purest sense — wines full of life, with minimal intervention, from lesser-known terroirs that, in the right hands, can rival even the greatest crus. The name Clair Obscur reflects that life is never simply black or white... often the truth lies somewhere in the grey.

Origin & Terroir
This Chardonnay comes from a tiny 0.17 ha parcel in Corpeau, rooted in clay-limestone and marl soils typical of the Mâcon region. The vines, planted between 1982 and 1996, offer an authentic reading of the land — pure and unadorned.

A precise and vibrant white Burgundy, with firm acidity and marked freshness. Aromas of green apple, Sicilian lemon, almond and subtle dry herbs. An honest and unmasked expression of Chardonnay — restrained, saline, and pure.
