Cortes de Cima Incógnito 2021
Alentejo, Portugal
────────────────────────────
Description
The name “Incógnito” was born from the clandestine nature of the Syrah grape in 1990s Portugal. Today, this wine has become an icon of the region and represents one of the most elegant and refined expressions of Syrah on Alentejo soils.
Cortes de Cima’s flagship wine had not been produced since the 2014 vintage, and now returns to the market under the estate’s new holistic philosophy, guided by the visionary winemaker Anna Jørgensen.
The 2021 vintage is absolutely stunning, showcasing elegance and refinement at the highest level.

Viticulture & Winemaking
• 100% Syrah
• Organic and regenerative farming
• Terroir-driven: Syrah sourced exclusively from parcels identified by Pedro Parra as the most limestone-rich, sandy-loam soils with low clay content
• Manual night harvest
• Spontaneous fermentation with 40% whole clusters (previously 100% destemmed)
• Gentle maceration in stainless steel tanks: less extraction, more infusion
• Aged 24 months in used 500L French oak barrels
• No fining or filtration

Tasting Notes
Fragrant and complex, with dark fruit, black pepper, fresh herbs, and a surprising sweet-sour nuance of wild blackberries. The palate is sculpted by very fine tannins, offering a velvety texture and a long, vibrant, and fresh finish. A wine of great precision, harmoniously balancing power and restraint.

“Fragrant, spicy, fruity and incredibly elegant. Refined structure and juicy palate. Hard to resist young, but clearly destined to age.”
