In all of Rioja, a region brimming with history and tradition, only 16 century-old wineries still exist, and Gómez Cruzado is one of them, with its roots in 1886, the year of its foundation. The classic bodega Gómez Cruzado is located in the heart of Haro, and among the biggest traditional names in the region, it stands out for its significantly smaller size. The extra care of an artisanal winery is carried out daily to keep its tradition of more than 130 years pulsating in the winery's veins.
Wine:
Tempranillo 50%, Garnacha 45% and Maturana Tinta 5%, from vines over 30 years old, grown on the two main slopes of the Ebro Valley. Tempranillo comes from the Sierra de Cantabria and Garnacha from the Serra da Demanda, in Alto Najerilla. The Tempranillo vineyards were planted in whitish clay-limestone soils and the Garnacha vineyards in reddish clay-limestone soils. Subsequently, part of the wine is aged in French oak barrels for 5 months, the rest remains in concrete tanks with its lees.
