Producer:
Oddero Poderi e Cantine is one of the most historic names in Barolo, with deep roots in the region for over 200 years and a strong influence on its culture of great wines. If Burgundy boasts names such as Musigny, Chambertin and Romanée-Conti, Barolo responds loudly with the sublime vineyards of Vignarionda, Brunate and Bussia, all organically farmed by the Oddero family. In this home we always have great Barolos from the region, in their most classic and traditional form, exponentially enhancing all the intoxicating purity of the perfume of the majestic Nebbiolo grape in sacred soils.
Wine:
1.1 ha in the prestigious Bussia cru, in Monforte d'Alba. Miocene-Serravallian soil with bands of yellow, sandy soil more or less compact. And also white Diano sandstone (compact sands solidified with natural "cements" such as calcium carbonate from sea waters). To the Two magnificently positioned plots at an altitude of 380 meters face southwest. Classic formula in the cellar: 30 days of maceration and rest in 30 hl botti for 36 months, plus a further 5 years in the Oddero cellars. The 2015 Barolo Riserva Bussia Vigna Mondoca is stunning with its class and elegance. The perfume is already very complex and features the classic notes of tar, dried roses and sweet fruit. The beautiful essence of a great Nebbiolo is perfectly encapsulated in this incredible bottle.
