Coliseu Douro Red 2019

Coliseu is a family project that works with its own vineyards from very small plots in the Baixo Corgo do Douro, with the utmost respect for identity and terroir, ensuring that the wines are the best expression of its old vines. The young and vibrant winemaker Hugo Línton has the philosophy “the more we do in the vineyard, the less we have to do in the cellar”, and this is how he expresses the identity of his terroir in each bottle of his tiny production. The identity of the Douro is interpreted here in an intellectual way, with immense character, freshness and the typical pungent minerality of its best houses.

Wine:
Around 50% is a field blend from old vines (66 years old) and the remainder is divided equally between Touriga Nacional and Alicante Bouschet from 29-year-old vines. It was aged for 20 months in French barrels, 30% new.
