Domaine Pavelot Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2023

Producer:
Domaine Pavelot, a true gem of Burgundy, has been a family-run and artisanal winery since its founding. Today, the seventh generation, represented by Luc and Lise, continues to evolve this domaine, known for its impressive wine quality. The pursuit of excellence is fueled by experience gained outside of Burgundy: Luc worked at Navarro Vineyards in California, and Lise at the renowned Domaine Dagueneau in the Loire.

Wine:
The Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2023 is one of the purest expressions of a great white wine from Burgundy. Sourced from four small parcels located at privileged altitudes in the En Charlemagne and Le Charlemagne climates, this wine reflects the complexity of the finest terroirs in the Côte de Beaune.

The soils, made up of fine limestones and fresh marls, offer excellent drainage and water balance even in dry years. The vines, with an average age of 66 years, are cultivated with great care, with the harvest done manually and the grapes gently pressed. The wine undergoes traditional vinification with fermentation in French oak barrels, followed by 12 months of aging in barrels (60% new) and 8 months in stainless steel, ensuring a silky texture and vibrant acidity.
