Producer
Rodrigo Méndez launched Forjas del Salnés with the support of one of Spain’s most legendary winemakers, Raúl Pérez. Very quickly, the bodega rose to the highest levels of quality — and demand. These are true minimal-intervention wines in the best sense of the term: no additives (only 20–30 mg/l of sulphites), from extremely old vines — some over 200 years old!

The wines are intensely saline, true to the fame of the Salnés Valley, with vertical tension and a rare ability to age gracefully.


Description
Leirana Genoveva 2022 is an exceptional and rare Albariño, sourced from a single historic vineyard where 80% of the vines are over 200 years old, rooted in granitic soils just a few kilometres from the Atlantic Ocean.

Aged for 12 months on fine lees (undisturbed) in 2,500-litre French oak foudres (8th to 10th use), this is a wine of purity, texture and precision. It combines remarkable tension and creamy depth, with extreme freshness and perfect maturity.
