Marjan Simčič was hailed by Decanter magazine as “the key to the success of the Goriška Brda region,” having taken over his family winery (established in 1860) at the age of 20 and propelling it to the top of both national and international acclaim. Brda boasts an extraordinary terroir, where the Alps meet the Mediterranean, with distinctive flysch soils of marl and limestone — the celebrated Opoka. Wine

This exceptional Chardonnay comes from the highest part of the Jordano Cru, a vineyard planted 54 years ago, facing northwest on marl, schist and sandstone soils (Opoka) — one of Brda’s finest terroirs. Fermentation and ageing take place in large conical oak casks, adding depth and elegance without masking the natural fruit expression.

In the glass, it is crystalline, golden and luminous. The nose is seductive, with aromas of lemon blossom, white peach and yellow plum, subtly wrapped in a creamy, harmonious note.

The palate is driven by vibrant fruit (apple, lemon, white flowers), with lively acidity and precise focus. The finish is long, mineral, and graceful — offering great purity and freshness.

A refined, deep, and sophisticated white that stands alongside the world’s great Chardonnays.
