The vines are, on average, 25 years old. Schist also makes up the mother rock in this emblematic place, but thicker (up to 80cm) and the slopes are less pronounced than the Coulée, and oriented towards the east.

Producer:
The most emblematic producer of the Loire? In addition to being one of the greatest references and the great herald of biodynamics in wine, Nicolas Joly is the curator of the magical vineyard of Coulée de Serrant. Part of the mystique of this historic property is the fact that its vines were planted by Cistercian monks in 1130, and since then they have never stopped producing. The distinct mesoclimate on the banks of the Loire, the old vines on schist soils and the mystical energy of this place are always expressed through the noble Chenin Blanc variety.
