Producer
The tiny Domaine Mee Godard farms its old vines (average 60 years) with a fully terroiriste approach, in unique plots in the glorious crus of Morgon and Moulin-à-Vent, all organically cultivated. Far from the generic image of Beaujolais as casual, simple wines, these are true terroir expressions — ageworthy wines structured to cellar for a decade or more. They faithfully reflect their magnificent terroirs, now better understood and masterfully interpreted by Mee Godard.

Mee Godard is a rising star in France and the world, and was recently awarded "Star of the Year" by Revue des Vins de France.

Winemaking
“The winemaking is classic: a large proportion of whole clusters are retained and macerations last several weeks, with pump-overs and punch-downs adapted vintage by vintage. Ageing takes place in concrete, foudre, demi-muids and barrels, depending on the cuvée. The resulting wines are pure, elegantly structured and traditionally styled, with the substance to age but also considerable youthful charm.”
William Kelley, Robertparker.com

Tasting Notes
“A wine with dark-red shine and polished rosewood grain. Deep and vibrant like the resonance of a cello. Hawthorn berries, Victoria plum, sous-bois, white pepper and moss. Tannins as light as sparrow’s wings.”

Moulin-à-Vent 'Au Michelon' 2022 is Mee Godard’s deepest interpretation of Beaujolais’ granite universe. Sourced from the Les Michelons plot at 400 metres altitude, this cuvée delivers a Gamay of density, elegance and vibrant freshness, with polished tannins and a finish that resonates like the lingering note of an instrument’s wood.

A wine that beautifully combines the floral and mineral character of the grape with rare depth — showing that Moulin-à-Vent belongs among France’s noblest red terroirs.
