Description
An authentic and soulful vinho de talha. This small project, rich in history and tradition, revives the ancient art of winemaking introduced by the Phoenicians, Greeks and Romans. In Vila de Frades, at the heart of Vidigueira, Teresa and João keep this millennia-old culture alive in their atmospheric 200-year-old cellar — where pure, unmasked liquid stories are crafted with care.
NaTalha Palhete 2023 is made naturally and ancestrally, from old co-planted vines with over 10 native grape varieties, including Alfrocheiro, Trincadeira, and Aragonês. Its lighter colour and delicate structure result from spontaneous fermentation with whole grapes (skins, seeds and stems) inside clay amphorae (talhas), followed by four months of maceration.
This wine was born from a deeply personal moment in the life of the winemaker, in total harmony with nature — its creation coinciding with her own pregnancy. A story of life, emotion and pure expression in the glass.
