Materramenta Verdelho Arinto Boal Graciosa D.O. 2021
Graciosa Island, Azores, Portugal | Volcanic White Wine

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Description
Materramenta 2021 Graciosa D.O. is an absolute rarity in Portuguese wine, coming from one of the smallest and most overlooked appellations in the Azores. Produced from three traditional grape varieties — Verdelho (40%), Arinto (39%) and Boal (21%) — planted in volcanic soils with direct Atlantic exposure, this white wine vibrantly expresses the character of Graciosa Island.

Spontaneously fermented and crafted with minimal intervention, it fully respects the island’s terroir and traditions. In the glass, it offers natural salinity, electric freshness and pure minerality that only great island wines can deliver.

Limited production: only 551 bottles.

Tasting Notes
Bright citrus colour with golden reflections. The nose reveals fresh aromas of lime peel, green apple, sea salt and wet stone. The palate is dry, textured, with vibrant acidity and a long, saline and mineral finish. A raw and elegant wine that transports you straight to Graciosa’s marine and volcanic landscape.

Style & Philosophy
Produced from vines grown in traditional “curraletas” (stone-walled plots), in light volcanic soils and exposed to Atlantic winds. A project that revives Graciosa D.O.’s wine heritage, through the sensitivity of winemaker Constantino Ramos and the passion of the Luís Vasco & Madalena family, heirs to these old vineyards.

A raw and precise Atlantic expression, full of tension and authenticity.
