Producer
Portalegre is one of the most promising wine regions — not only in Alentejo but in all of Portugal. The Fino family were pioneers in this region, first linked to the iconic Tapada do Chaves estate, and after its sale in 1998, to Monte da Penha, planted in the 1980s on beautiful vineyards along the slopes of Serra de São Mamede. These granite-dominant soils, between 400 and 550 metres altitude, produce wines that age magnificently, with a collection of old vintages that narrate the history and geography of this exceptional region. Since 2020, talented winemaker Susana Esteban has been crafting these wines.
