Description
Contrada Rampante is one of Etna’s most revered crus — a volcanic enclave of noble heritage. Here, pre-phylloxera Nerello Mascalese vines, aged 80 to 90 years and trained in the traditional alberello method, are rooted in deep, mineral-rich soils at 850 meters altitude.
The 2018 vintage is a pure and layered interpretation of this unique site. Fermented with indigenous yeasts in cement tanks and aged in French oak tonneaux, it reveals precision and depth: aromas of ripe red berries, wild herbs and earthy volcanic tones unfold in seamless harmony.
On the palate, it is vibrant and firmly structured, with sculpted tannins and electric acidity. A wine of altitude and gravitas — elegant, age-worthy, and profoundly expressive of Etna’s northern slope.
