Description
Founded in 1612 by Capuchin monks at the foot of the Grand Cru Schlossberg, Domaine Weinbach is one of the most revered estates in Alsace. Since acquiring the domaine in 1898, the Faller family has built an extraordinary legacy grounded in purity, finesse and an uncompromising connection to terroir. For over 20 years, they have employed organic and biodynamic viticulture to express the soul of this unique region on the border of France and Germany.
The Pinot Gris Altenbourg Vendange Tardive 2019 is a jewel of Alsace — made from late-harvested grapes left to dehydrate and concentrate on the vine, developing remarkable aromatic intensity and natural sweetness. Sourced from the marly-limestone soils of the Altenbourg lieu-dit, this wine offers elegance, balance and tension in perfect harmony.
On the nose, it reveals notes of golden raisins, candied lemon peel, quince and acacia honey. The palate is luscious and creamy, yet uplifted by a zesty acidity that gives clarity and cuts through the richness. A wine with the soul of liquid gold.
