“Instead of the fruit and wood bomb, Fèlsina opted for refinement and balance”, summarize Bastianich and Lynch in the unavoidable “Vino Italiano, The Regional Wines of Italy”. The unbeatable duo of Giuseppe Mazzocolin, a former professor of Greek and Latin, and the fantastic winemaker Franco Bernabei have been betting on Sangiovese, to the detriment of international grape varieties, since the early 1980s. 1983, and since then an icon of Tuscany. For those who love ultra-traditional Chianti, the Poggiali family also produces the classic Pagliarese in another dream property.

Wine:
The Rancia vineyard takes its name from the historic Rancia farm, once a Benedictine monastery. Located in Castelnuovo Berardenga, at altitudes between 400 and 420 meters, it has a refined southwest-facing exposure. The soil is composed of classic alberese derived from limestone from the Castelnuovo Berardenga region and by galestro in some areas. The wine ages in new oak barrels for 18-20 months.

Jancis Robinson: 17+/20 points.
