Description
A highlight of Montalcino in the spectacular The Sommelierβs Atlas of Taste by Rajat Parr, Le Ragnaie is an essential reference for lovers of classic Sangiovese.
Instead of heavily extracted, dark-fruited Brunellos marked by new oak, Le Ragnaie crafts elegant wines of bright red fruit and great finesse. The secret lies in high-altitude vineyards β all farmed organically β and traditional vinification using indigenous yeasts and extended ageing in large wooden casks.
The Petroso cuvΓ©e comes from one of the most historic and classic terroirs of the Montalcino commune, with a more open and expressive character.

Tasting Notes
An accessible and vibrant profile, with bright red fruit β cherry, plum, redcurrant β layered with light tobacco, bay leaf, white pepper, and subtle hints of herbs and dried fruits.
Elegant on the palate, with a mineral texture (wet stone, rose quartz), fine tannins, and a balanced, enveloping finish. A classic, captivating Brunello with excellent ageing potential.
