Description

Instead of heavily extracted, dark-fruited Brunellos marked by new oak, Le Ragnaie crafts elegant wines of bright red fruit and great finesse. The secret lies in high-altitude vineyards — all farmed organically — and traditional vinification using indigenous yeasts and extended ageing in large wooden casks.
The Petroso cuvée comes from one of the most historic and classic terroirs of the Montalcino commune, with a more open and expressive character.

• Ageing: 3 years in 32 hl Slavonian oak casks

Tasting Notes
An accessible and vibrant profile, with bright red fruit — cherry, plum, redcurrant — layered with light tobacco, bay leaf, white pepper, and subtle hints of herbs and dried fruits.
Elegant on the palate, with a mineral texture (wet stone, rose quartz), fine tannins, and a balanced, enveloping finish. A classic, captivating Brunello with excellent ageing potential.
