Introduction
AMA® No. 540 is an artisanal sparkling beverage produced with organic lemongrass sourced from Beira Interior, Portugal. Through a contemporary reinterpretation of ancestral pétillant naturel methods, this fermented infusion brings together purity, terroir, and innovation.
Crafted using exclusive natural fermentation techniques, this plant-based pét-nat is made with pure spring water from the Basque Pyrenees and organically grown herbs from small-scale farming. It is a refined, low-alcohol alternative, ideal as an aperitif, at the table, or simply to share elegant moments.
Tasting Notes
Pale yellow-green in color with fine, persistent bubbles. The nose is aromatic and fresh, with expressive notes of citrus leaf, lemongrass, and green herbs, opening into aromatic resin, lavender, and pine. On the palate, it shows a light, linear texture with hints of dried hay, ginger, and anise, finishing with a clean balance between citrus sweetness and subtle herbal bitterness.

Grown by Henrique Manso and Rosário Martins on an eight-hectare farm in the Castelo Branco region, this lemongrass develops intense citrus oils and a pronounced herbal structure. Production is low-impact and chemical-free, with hand-harvesting at peak freshness. The result is an ingredient that brings definition, tension, and character to the aromatic profile of this pét-nat.
