Antoine Lepetit de la Bigne is passionate about biodynamic viticulture. Trained as an agricultural engineer and oenologist, he began his career as an industrial strategy consultant for large groups. However, his true calling led him to work with authentic and emotional wines, starting with an internship with Olivier Humbrecht at Domaine Zind-Humbrecht in Alsace. He later worked for eight years with Anne-Claude Leflaive at the prestigious Domaine Leflaive in Puligny-Montrachet.

In 2021, Antoine founded the Pierre Ronde Estate, in Beaune, where he makes wines from grapes purchased from winegrowers who follow biodynamic or organic farming practices - guided by him. His approach is notable for vinification with moderate use of sulfur and careful aging in barrels, foudres or amphorae, respecting the expression of the terroir.

From Aligoté to the extraordinary Meursault Charmes, it is clear that Antoine favours a perfectly ripe vintage - neither too ripe nor too early. The result is rich and captivating wines!

With the 2022 harvest, the domaine reached a new level of balance and intensity.

We are honored to bring to Portugal the 2023 harvest, in tiny quantities, of this highly sought-after rising star.

Wine:

This Aligoté comes from young vines, only 4 years old – this is its second harvest. The terroir is composed of clayey-loam soils, located in the lowlands of the Puligny-Montrachet commune, in the plot known as "Les Champs Pernot". The viticulture is organic. The harvest was carried out manually on September 16, 2023.

The winemaking process was carried out without the addition of sulphites, using indigenous yeasts. Fermentation was carried out in foudre and amphora, the latter being dedicated to a part of the maceration cuvée.

The aging process lasted for 9 months: 80% of the wine in foudre and 20% in amphora, followed by a further 2 months of rest with the final batch in stainless steel tanks.

Bottling took place on July 9, 2024, on “Fruit” day (biodynamic calendar), without fining, with light filtration.

Limited production: 2,365 bottles and 48 magnums.
