Historic 12th century estate in Tomar, ANUNCIADA VELHA, Filipe and his wife Teresa (also owners of Morgado do Quintão), advised by winemaker João Nunes, recover with the same emotion the surprising wines created by the Marquesa de Tomar in the 19th century, in clay-limestone soils.
Anunciada Velha Branco 2021 is a wine with a free spirit, produced on a small scale with a spirit of family communion and absolute respect for nature and the place. A blend of Fernão Pires and Arinto harvested manually on August 24th and 25th, 2021 by friends and family, harvested at an ideal point of ripeness for both varieties.
Vinification began after 48 hours of rest, with spontaneous fermentation and prolonged skin maceration of 32 days — a process in which only the skins were soaked or submerged, without aggressive extractions. The wine was not subjected to tartaric or protein stabilization, remaining faithful to its natural character and the terroir from which it was born.
Tasting Notes
It has a golden color, a complex nose that combines floral notes with a base of citrus peel and dried herbs. In the mouth it is structured, with vibrant acidity, a rich texture and a long, saline finish.
