Damijan Podveršič is a true winemaker who follows the rhythms and signs of nature with fervent passion and unwavering attention, to extract from his magnificent 11 hectares in Collio Goriziano grapes with a perfectly ripe skin and seed, as he likes to emphasize, and not just the pulp. His innate genius has led him to the pinnacle of the “orange wine” movement in Friuli/Slovenia, in a very unique style. Now, together with his equally enlightened daughter Tamara, the Podveršič family forges wines that dream and believe that the future of winemaking is to return to its past.
Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon in Ponca-Opoka soils, formed by sandstone and calcareous marl. Maceration in large oak barrels for 40 days. Once fermentation is complete, it ages in 20 or 30 hl barrels for 3 years and then rests for 1 year in bottles.
Vinous: 94 points.
