With a recent history, it has gained enormous importance in the world of collectible wines, achieving stratospheric ratings in guides and being considered a promising wine of Burgundy. Respect for the terroir is demonstrated by biodynamics, which has been practiced for over 20 years, since the era of Pascal Marchand, succeeded by Pierre Vincent (now Domaine Leflaive) who produced more ethereal wines, with delicacy and purity of fruit, as maintained by Sylvie Poillot. The Domaine's arsenal of vineyards is impressive. A highlight is the Clos Blanc de Vougeot, considered by Jasper Morris MW to be the best white wine of the Côte de Nuits.

Montiottes hautes (1,052 ha), plot at the top of Clos Vougeot, planted in 1946, with a higher limestone and stony content. Baudes Saint-Martin (0.3617 ha) further down the hill.

Completely destemmed this year.  Low extraction maceration lasting 22 days. 16 months in French oak, only 28% new, from different cooperages and lightly toasted.

Score: 92-96 Jasper Morris
Fruit from the plot in the upper part of the Clos retains 50% of the stems, while the lower block is fearless. A very light reduction. An attractive balanced red fruit, along with some chocolate notes, and Sylvie suggests a little tobacco which I can now see. A good thread of acidity throughout, not especially demonstrative despite the nuances. Drink from 2032-2040. Tasted: November 2023.
