Producer
A rising star in the world of collectible Burgundy, Domaine de la Vougeraie has seen its reputation soar in recent years, with sky-high ratings and growing acclaim. Biodynamic practices have been in place here for over 20 years, ever since the era of Pascal Marchand — later succeeded by Pierre Vincent (now at Domaine Leflaive) — whose vision of ethereal, pure-fruited wines continues today under Sylvie Poillot. The domaine’s vineyard holdings are truly impressive, with the celebrated Clos Blanc de Vougeot considered by Jasper Morris MW as the best white of the Côte de Nuits.

Description
From a unique 1.1-hectare plot in the beaunois sector of Pommard, Les Petits Noizons blends the classic power of the appellation with a modern sense of precision. Certified organic (Ecocert since 2000), the vineyard faces south and is planted between 1985 and 1989 on stony, limestone-rich soils at 300 metres altitude.
Vinification is fully natural: spontaneous fermentation with no added yeasts, gravity-fed vatting, a 5-day cold soak, and 19 days of total cuvaison with gentle punch-downs and pump-overs. The wine was aged 15 months in French oak barrels (20% new), followed by 1 month in stainless steel, and bottled unfined with light filtration.
The result is a Pommard of great balance — ripe fruit, firm but refined tannins, and mineral tension — with a solid structure and a long life ahead. Already elegant in its youth, it will evolve beautifully for over a decade.
