This unavoidable domaine de Villié-Morgon has just achieved the maximum 3 stars in the guide of La Revue du Vin de France, placing it at the well-deserved pinnacle of the best wine producers in the country, after 8 generations of work by Desvignes family. The inspired fraternal duo Claude-Emmanuelle and Louis-Benoît, from the organic work in the vineyards, seeks a refined sense of aesthetics in the expression of each Morgon “lieu-dit”. The purity of the fruit, minerality and storage capacity of its wines is brutal, all vinified in concrete with stalks, in the old fashioned Beaujolais way.
Wine:
Very old vines, a meager 0.57 ha and over 90 years old, in clay, shale, pyrite and eruptive rocks. Traditional winemaking using 100% stalks. Aged for 10 months in concrete eggs.
