The tiny domaine of Mee Godard works its old vines (60 years old on average) in a completely 'terroirist' way, in single plots in the glorious communes of Morgon and Moulin-à-Vent, which are cultivated organically. Far from the generic image of Beaujolais, which is limited to relaxed wines, these are not only expressions of terroir, but wines for ageing, with the structure to withstand a decade in the cellar. Furthermore, they reflect their magnificent terroirs, which are now understood and faithfully interpreted by the producer.

Mee Godard is a rising star in France and around the world, and in just a few years she has already been awarded star of the year by the renowned French magazine "Revue des Vins de France".

Wine:
“The winemaking is classic: whole bunches are largely retained and macerations last several weeks, with pump-overs and punch-downs adapted vintage after vintage. Maturation follows in concrete, foudre, demi-muids and barrels, depending on the cuvée. The resulting wines are pure, elegantly structured and traditional in style, with the substance to age but also with considerable initial charm.” William Kelley, Robertparker.com

Points: 18 Jancis Robinson
"A wine that invokes stillness, a sense of withheld power. Empyrean intensity. Glorious length."
