The very small domaine of Mee Godard works its old vines (60 years on average) in a totally 'terroirist' way, in unique plots in the glorious communes of Morgon and Moulin-à-Vent are exploited in organic cultivation. Far removed from the generic image of Beaujolais, which is limited to relaxed wines, these are not just terroir expressions, but aging wines, with the structure to face a decade in the cellar. Furthermore, they mirror its magnificent terroirs that are now understood, and faithfully interpreted, by the producer.
Mee Godard is a rising star in France and the world, and in just a few years she has already been awarded star of the year by the renowned French magazine "Revue des Vins de France".
Wine:
“Vinification is classic: whole bunches are retained for the most part and maceration lasts several weeks, with pump-overs and punch-downs adapted from vintage to vintage. Maturation continues in concrete, foudre, demi-muids and barrels, depending on the cuvée. The resulting wines are pure, elegantly structured and traditionally styled, with substance to age but also considerable early charm.” William Kelley, Robertparker.com
