The unbeatable duo of Giuseppe Mazzocolin, a former professor of Greek and Latin, and the fantastic winemaker Franco Bernabei have been focusing on Sangiovese, to the detriment of international varieties, since the early 1980s. Fontalloro was one of the first 100% Sangiovese Super Tuscans, launched in 1983, and has been a Tuscan icon ever since. For those who love ultra-traditional Chianti, the Poggiali family also produces the classic Pagliarese on another dream estate.

Wine:
The special Colonia vineyard is located on the top of Poggio a Rancia, surrounded by forest, and is very rocky, creating linear and firm wines. The wine ages in new oak barrels for 30 months.
