Description
Released for the first time in 1983, Fontalloro is one of the original 100% Sangiovese Super Tuscans, and a true icon of Italian winemaking. Sourced from vineyards straddling the border between Chianti Classico and Colli Senesi, it seamlessly blends limestone finesse with earthy, mineral depth, capturing the full range of Sangiovese’s potential.
The 2018 vintage reveals an expressive bouquet of black cherry, dried rose petals, wet earth and gentle spice. On the palate, it is vibrant, sculpted and persistent, with a core of polished tannins and bright acidity that give energy and structure to the long, graceful finish. A wine of character, clarity and longevity.
Vinous – 95 Points
"Sangiovese is so expressive here. A whole range of floral and savory accents lingers on the close."
