Forjas del Salnés Leirana O Pradiño 2021

Rodrigo Méndez started Forjas del Salnés with the help of one of the greatest exponents of Spanish viticulture, the great Raúl Pérez, and soon took this winery to the highest level of quality and, consequently, demand. These are wines of minimal intervention, in the best sense of the expression, made without any additives (only sulfites between 20 and 30 mg/l) from extremely old vineyards, some over 200 years old! These are salty wines, honoring the fame of the Salnés valley, which express themselves with verticality, tension and resist time like few others!

Wine:

Only 800 bottles produced. Albariño from the Pradiño single-vineyard on Gneiss soils. Aged for 12 months  in new 600-liter barrels.

"It's more civilized and polished, with notes of pollen and bay leaf, a hint of straw (which I found in many 2021 whites here), developing a note of gunpowder with time in the glass, and it has a long, tasty finish."
