“Possibly the most consistent elite producer in Kamptal, if not in all of Austria”, according to one of the most influential sommeliers in the world, Rajat Parr. The Hirsch house has been in Kammern for 500 years, and since 1878 the farm has been cultivated by the family, now in the 5th generation. Biodynamics here is taken very seriously by Johannes, and the style of the wines is one of sheer purity in the representation of some of the best crus in the country, such as the fabulous Heiligenstein, with its primary rock, granite and gneiss soils. How far can Riesling and Grüner Veltliner go in Austria? The answer is Hirsch.
Wine:
Grapes ripen in the terraced vineyards around the traditional wine village of Zöbing in Kamptal. The wines display pure stone characters, crisp minerality and an enormous drinkability flow. Aged in stainless steel only.
