Julien Sunier Régnié 2023
Régnié, Beaujolais – France
Organic red wine (in conversion)
Old-vine Gamay on pink granite sand
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Description
Sourced from the historic En Oeillat parcel, located at the foot of the famed Côte du Py hill, this Régnié comes from vines over 60 years old, deeply rooted in very sandy pink granite soils. This rare terroir brings lightness, energy, and aromatic purity to Gamay.
Vinified naturally with indigenous yeasts and minimal intervention, Julien Sunier follows his signature low-impact approach: semi-carbonic maceration in concrete vats and ageing in 80% neutral Burgundy barrels and 20% concrete. The result is a bright, precise and mineral wine — one of the most elegant interpretations of Régnié.

Aromatic nose of wild raspberries, dried leaves, and subtle spice. On the palate, it shows vibrant acidity, fine-grained tannins, and a delicate mineral backbone. A clean and energetic Gamay, elegant and finely textured.
