Description
From the ancient pre-phylloxera vines on the eastern slopes of Europe’s highest active volcano comes one of Italy’s greatest high-altitude white wines. Pietradolce, led by Michele Faro, is among the few producers who capture the full typicity and elegance of Etna’s singular terroir.
The Archineri Etna Bianco 2020 is made entirely from Carricante, a native grape capable of remarkable purity and expression. Cultivated at 850 meters altitude in the Archineri vineyard, these century-old vines rooted in volcanic stone produce a wine that is both tense and luminous, with exceptional structure and minerality.
Expect aromas of Sicilian lemon, green apple, white flowers and crushed volcanic rock. The palate is vibrant, saline and deep, with a long, layered finish that recalls both sea and mountain. A true wine of place, from one of the most compelling viticultural zones in the world.
