Chilean wine can be divided into before and after Marcelo Retamal. For more than 20 years at the helm of De Martino, this revolutionary winemaker - one of the 30 most influential in the world according to Decanter in England - forever transformed the wines and the image of his country, discovering its diversity and its best terroirs. The personal project RETA was created in 2019, and brings 3 wines that synthesize all the decades of insane work vinifying grapes from hundreds and hundreds of plots from every corner of Chile. The 3 exceptional “grand crus” discovered by Marcelo during his brilliant career.

The Quebrada Seca vineyard has long been an iconic vineyard in Chile for its quality and unique combination of limestone soils and proximity to the cold ocean. Located in Limarí, it is less than 25km from the sea and 240 metres above sea level. The influence of the morning fog is prominent and generates coolness during the summer days, allowing the grapes to ripen slowly and gently and helping to preserve natural acidity. It is the oldest Chardonnay vineyard in the region and was planted on free-standing stock with vines in massal selection.

Fermentation with indigenous yeasts. No sulfites are used during winemaking. Aged for 2 years in 228-liter barrels of third, fourth and fifth use.
