Grade: 17+ Jancis Robinson
It grows from century-old vines on a 70% slope, where any mistake could be fatal. Heroic viticulture in its faithful definition. Stupendous nose that exalts layers and layers of primary aromas mixed with touches of evolution. Soft texture, without edges, that embraces the cutting and mineral acidity of this wine that delivers infinitely more than its price suggests. A show!
Sybille Kuntz is considered one of the most talented women in wine, and always achieves true expressions of her land, with an imposing profile of power and minerality, through the glorious combination: Mosel, Riesling, extremely steep slopes and very old planted in clear footing. To enhance its magnificent terroir, already considered “grand cru” in the Napoleonic era, the vigneronne has been working organically since 1990, and took a step forward in 2016, when it won the biodynamic certificate. From the starter Riesling to Spätlese, all are trocken (dry).
