This viejisimo (extremely old in Spanish) Moscatel is a rarity. Valdespino only releases this nectar occasionally, since the 'criadera' that makes it consists of just one barrel. An average of 100 half bottles are removed and bottled annually. In addition, we have its unique quality and depth, and the fact that it is the oldest Moscatel on the market, probably 100 years old. Elements that together helped him reach his mythical status.

So concentrated that it is almost opaque in its color. Impressive thickness and density little seen in any other wine. Vibrance is not lacking, as the acidity keeps this monument in balance and somehow still fresh after a century of its birth. Perfect, in a sense, exotic completeness, ever-changing layers of complexity, and endless length. Figs, dried apricots, florals, indigenous spices, honey, orange peel, crème brûlée, mandarins and the list can go on as oxygen penetrates your dense body and unfolds more and more layers. Flawless texture, round and yet well supported by a mineral backbone. A wine to change your life as it changed ours.

Producer:
Once compared by the Spanish critic Luís Gutierrez (Parker) to the “Domaine de la Romanée-Conti de Jerez”, the house Valdespino delivers what we expect from a top producer in the magical Andalusian region: fabulous vines in the “grand cru” Macharnudo, long history and uncompromising respect for traditions. The oenological saga of the Valdespino family dates back to 1264, and in this house there is not a millimeter of concession to deliver the best and most traditional wines of Jerez, in all their unsurpassable range of styles and emotions.
