Yann Durieux - Recrue des Sens La Gouzotte 2020

Yann Durieux quickly achieved legendary natural vigneron status and is now one of the most respected leaders in cult wines from the new Burgundy, with his small domaine Recrue des Sens. He is neighboured by the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti in Hautes-Côtes de Nuits, and works vineyards in magical lands. He creates wines that exude energy and perfume, combining the best of the natural world with the most sacred things that can be found in the great names. He is a winemaker and has mastered the art during his long experience at Prieuré Roch, caring for the iconic grand cru Chambertin-Clos de Bèze. In the cellar, his allergy to SO2 guides his non-interventionist, but perfectionist philosophy. Wines of drama and emotion!

Wine:
Gouzotte is the traditional name for a pruning knife, which is sharp like this splendid wine. It is a 100% Pinot Noir from plots in the Hautes Cotes de Nuits that is fresh and concentrated, with all the best of the natural side, but with Yann's surgical precision. 100% whole bunch, 1 month of maceration, pigeage done on foot, élevage of approximately 18 months in tank. No additions or subtractions.
