Marjan “was the key to the success of the Goriška Brda region”, when at the age of 20, he took over the family winery from 1860 and “changed the profile of the region and raised it to the first level nationally and internationally” , according to Decanter magazine. Brda has the prerogative of a fantastic terroir, where the Alps join hands with the Mediterranean, with “flysch” soils of limestone marl, the famous Opoka. Marjan is a force of nature, and with organically grown grapes, she creates wines of immense authenticity and minerality, totally unmissable for terroir explorers.

Wine:
Sauvignon Vert comes from France. Brought to the northern regions of Italy and Brda as early as the distant 1600s. Since the variety thrives in local conditions, the natives (Friulians) simply adopted it as indigenous. And the Italian side of the border is now called Friulano. Here, we are on the Italian side, in the Collio region and more specifically the special terroir of Ronc Zegla, where the vines reach 90 years! The altitude is lower, reaching 150 meters. Loam and Opoka limestone make up the myriad of soils. Fermentation with maceration for 2 days in 2,000 liter conical shaped wood. Indigenous yeasts. Internship in the same barrels for 23 months.
