Lawyer and wine enthusiast António Guerreiro has worked with enthusiastic winemaker Nuno Martins to revolutionize the Arruda dos Vinhos region. In a beautiful hillside vineyard with Jurassic limestone and clay-limestone soils with incredible potential, they achieve excellent freshness and tension in their wines. The 6 hectares of production are farmed sustainably, and the focus is on delivering the best Aragonez in the country, from an old vineyard, as well as expressions full of character from the region's native or typical grape varieties, approved by the Arruda DOC: Arinto and Vital, Tinta Miúda and Syrah.
Wine:
Clay-limestone terroir of Kimeridgiano in the Arruda DOC, located at an altitude of over 300 meters, between the sea and the Tagus. This Vital ferments in barrels, without temperature control. The same barrels, being French, of 225 and 400 liters, are used for the malolactic fermentation and for the 4-month aging.
A white that combines the inviting texture of Vital with a lot of tension and verticality, characteristics that are rare in the variety, but very present in top-of-the-range wines made in limestone and cool climates. Immensely saline finish.
