Producer
Spain’s most fascinating, awarded, and sought-after domaine tells the story of a visionary vigneron: Jorge Monzón. After two years working alongside Bernard Noblet at the legendary Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, one year at Vega Sicilia, and ten more at Arzuaga Navarro, Jorge returned to his native village of La Aguilera in Ribera del Duero. With great humility and brilliance, he assembled the finest old vines of the region. Through his talent, obsessive attention to detail, and vision of honouring Ribera’s ancient traditions, he is now producing some of the greatest white, clarete, and red wines in Spanish history.

Wine
Dominio del Águila Reserva 2020 is one of the most refined expressions of Ribera del Duero, combining tradition, precision, and terroir into a world-class red wine. Produced by Jorge Monzón and Isabel Rodero in the village of La Aguilera, this wine is crafted from century-old vines grown organically at 800–900 meters altitude, on clay-sandy and limestone soils.
The nose reveals beautiful aromas of violets, dark cherries, and wild herbs. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, with fine, chalky tannins, remarkable freshness, concentration, and balance. The finish is long, with notes of licorice and flowers, delivering a rare elegance for the region.

Score
97 points – Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
"The nose of the 2020 Reserva is beautiful, perfumed and floral, showy and expressive, really open. The palate is medium to full-bodied, with fine-boned and very fine and chalky tannins. It has 14% alcohol, not a shy red, with power and concentration, freshness and terrific balance. It has a long finish with a touch of licorice and violets. It has to be among the best vintages for Reserva."
