Of relatively recent history, the domaine has risen to major prominence in the world of collectible wines, achieving stratospheric ratings in the wine guides and being hailed as one of Burgundy’s most promising estates. Respect for terroir is evident in over 20 years of biodynamic farming, initiated under Pascal Marchand and followed by Pierre Vincent (now at Domaine Leflaive), who guided the domaine toward more ethereal wines of delicacy and purity of fruit — a direction maintained today by Sylvie Poillot.
The domaine’s vineyard holdings are impressive, with a special highlight on Clos Blanc de Vougeot, considered by Jasper Morris MW to be the finest white wine of the Côte de Nuits.

Domaine de la Vougeraie Volnay 2022
Volnay is synonymous with finesse in the Côte de Beaune, and this bottling from Domaine de la Vougeraie reflects the purity of that tradition. Sourced from three distinct parcels — En Robardelle, Les Petits Gamets and Ez Blanches/Clos des Chênes — all east-facing, this biodynamic Pinot Noir expresses the mineral elegance and floral delicacy typical of the appellation.
The 2022 harvest, picked on a “fruit day,” allowed for measured extraction: natural vinification with no added yeasts or enzymes, gravity-fed vatting, and 15 months of ageing in barrels (20% new). A vibrant, structured and refined red, combining aromatic depth with precision.
