Producer
Under the stewardship of Romain Taupenot, 7th generation of this family domaine, the vineyards have been organically farmed since 2001. The wines always respect the transparency of their terroirs, without the masking influence of new oak or winemaking artifice. Pure fruit and vibrant structure define the style — with absolute quality driven by Romain’s terroirist philosophy in this small Morey-Saint-Denis estate.

Tasting Notes
Les Pruliers is one of the most renowned Premier Cru sites of Nuits-Saint-Georges, located in the southern part of the appellation, where the terroir yields wines of power and finesse. In this 2022 vintage, Romain Taupenot captures the full vibrancy and energy of this 0.5 ha parcel (planted in 1973), resulting in a Pinot Noir of rare intensity and poise.

Grapes are fully destemmed, spontaneously fermented with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel for 8 to 13 days. Extraction is gentle and guided by tasting, with soft punchdowns and pumpovers. The wine is aged 12–15 months in French oak barrels (up to 30% new), followed by a short rest in tank before bottling, un-fined and rarely filtered.

Jasper Morris MW:
“Bright purple colour. The bouquet beautifully expresses the site: ripe plum, vibrant and well-balanced. Concentrated red fruit with compact and dynamic energy. The finish shows poised freshness, with perfectly balanced tannins and acidity.”
