Etienne Sauzet Puligny-Montrachet 2023
100% Chardonnay
Appellation: Puligny-Montrachet AOC – Côte de Beaune, Burgundy
Oenology & Vinification
The grapes for this Puligny-Montrachet come from several parcels within the commune, carefully selected to express the purity of the limestone terroir of the Côte de Beaune. Vinification is delicate and precise: spontaneous alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts, followed by aging in French oak barrels (approximately 20% new) for 10 to 12 months, with moderate bâtonnage. The wine then rests in tank before bottling, in accordance with the lunar calendar.
Tasting Notes
Elegance and precision are the hallmarks of Etienne Sauzet’s style. The Puligny-Montrachet 2023 displays a refined aromatic profile, with notes of citrus blossom, green apple, fresh butter, and mineral nuances recalling wet stone and chalk. On the palate, it reveals a silky texture, firm and vibrant acidity, and a persistent, saline finish, demonstrating the depth typical of great white Burgundies.
