Producer
It is incredible that Le Puy still flies under the radar, even among seasoned Bordeaux connoisseurs — despite its 400 years of history. This is the authentic Bordeaux, full of personality and tradition. It comes from the small AOC Francs, crafted mostly from Merlot (with a dash of Cabernet Franc), and has never been ranked in any Bordeaux classification.
Le Puy’s natural philosophy is rare in the region — as far back as 1868 they were questioning the use of sulphur in winemaking. The vines grow on the same limestone plateau that extends from glamorous Saint-Émilion, giving a true expression of terroir.

Wine
The iconic Barthélemy 2021 is a wine of remarkable purity, born from rigorous biodynamic farming and minimal intervention in the cellar. Sourced from very low-yield parcels (12.2 hl/ha), this wine vibrantly reflects the limestone terroir of Château Le Puy.
Deep, dense purple colour. The nose is intriguing and captivating, with notes of blood orange and liquorice. On the palate, it is fine, with lively acidity, pure fresh morello cherry fruit and a saline, powdery finish — almost tactile.
