Certified Organic

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Description

Le Ragnaie is one of the standout estates in Montalcino, celebrated in The Sommelier’s Atlas of Taste by Rajat Parr, where it is hailed as one of the region’s most precious and authentic producers.

In contrast to many heavy, modern-style Brunellos, Le Ragnaie delivers classic, charming, and elegant wines focused on pure red fruit and vibrant acidity. The secret? High-altitude vineyards — including the highest in the DOCG — farmed organically, and a traditional, minimalist approach in the cellar.

This Brunello Casanovina Montosoli 2019 comes from the iconic parcel at the foot of Montosoli hill, acquired in 2015. The Sangiovese is fermented with native yeasts in cement vats, followed by 3 years of ageing in large 32 hl Slavonian oak casks.

The result is a Brunello of remarkable finesse and precision: juicy red fruit, marked minerality, and subtle notes of leather and tobacco. An exemplar of balance and elegance.

Ratings & Reviews

97 points – Robert Parker (Wine Advocate)

"The Le Ragnaie 2019 Brunello di Montalcino Casanovina Montosoli has medium-plus concentration and pretty aromas of cherry fruit, redcurrant, crushed mineral, watercolor paint and a generally riper bouquet. Vines at 300m elevation in clay soils deliver both punch and elegance. Over time, subtle leather and tobacco notes develop alongside a sweet, supple finish. Structurally, this is a very beautiful wine. (3,800 bottles produced)."
