Enology

Whole clusters were gently pressed, followed by 24 hours of settling in stainless steel before transfer to used French oak barrels, where fermentation occurred with indigenous yeasts at ambient temperature. Malolactic fermentation followed naturally, with bâtonnage performed only during barrel topping.

The wine aged 24 months in barrel, followed by 12 months in a horizontal stainless-steel tank before bottling.

Tasting Notes

Vibrant golden colour.
The nose shows impressive depth, with aromas of candied lemon, grapefruit, quince, dried fruits, clove and a discreet smoky, saline note.
The palate is tense and broad, with remarkable acidity — a clear expression of Atlantic influence — and firm structure.
A serious, age-worthy white, intense and enveloping.

Viticulture

Vinha do Marreco is a steep, isolated, south-facing parcel on clay-limestone soils. Arinto was planted here in 2013 from massal selection, in a challenging year marked by a dry winter and humid spring. Double-cane pruning ensures balanced growth and golden clusters with copper reflections.
