The Ramilo family has been linked to Colares since the first half of the 19th century. Nuno and his brother Pedro, the 4th generation, were dissatisfied with the direction of this historic wine that lost its luster in the last decades of the 20th century, they decided to restore the family's two farms, one on sandy ground in Azenhas do Mar and the other on hard ground in the Lizandro River Valley. Together with winemaker Jorge Mota, they are rescuing the traditions and native grape varieties of this region, battered by the cold, salty winds of the ocean. How many great and famous wines in the world age like a Colares or taste like a Colares? And how many Colares like a Ramilo?
